Motion and Rest: Screen Printing Workshop 2 of 2

Welcome to Motion and Rest. My goal is to share something weekly via the Motion and Rest e-newsletter. As a bonus for subscribers, I'll share a workout, album review, or some other exclusive tidbit in each weekly e-newsletter. If you've already subscribed, thank you and please double check your sp*m folder as I'm shifting from Tiny Letter to Buttondown this week. Gmail was consistently flagging my Tiny Letter emails as "suspicious" so I am switching to the one-person operation, Buttondown, over alternatives like Substack. I found this Wired article on Substack alternatives helpful.

This week's (US-based) e-newsletter subscriber exclusive is a raffle for one of three notebooks with the Motion and Rest logo screen printed on them! I'll be drawing randomly from the list of those subscribed before Sunday, March 12th, 2023 and contacting winners on the 12th. If you aren't already subscribed, you can do so here.

Subscribe to enter the raffle!

In addition to notebooks, I also printed some stickers - I've sold my supply except for the "Feed Your Needs" stickers. If those appeal to you, please shoot me an email at daniel.kittaka@gmail.com

These stickers are printed on matte label paper and are roughly 3.5" x 2.5"

Here are a few screen print process photos. Shout out to our screen printing instructor, Emily, my Comics Portfolio cohort, and the IPRC.

My images printed out and coated with baby oil to allow light to "burn" a negative image in the emulsion we applied to our screens last week

The IPRC has one of theses fancy machines which we used to burn our images into the emulsion on our screens

Here's how my screen turned out
